GM Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
Effective as of: May 20, 2025
These GM Rewards Program Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern Member participation in the GM Rewards Program (“Program”), operated by General Motors LLC.
An eligible participant in the Program (each a “Member” or “you”) earns Program points (“Points”) by completing certain transactions or behaviors. Members may redeem Points in certain ways, including at participating GM dealerships, on GM websites for certain services or goods, or at specified third-party companies, including General Motors Insurance and GM Financial (“Third-Party Companies”). For a description of the Program, please visit gmrewards.com.
GM may collect, use and share information you provide and information about you through and for the Program in accordance with these Terms (including Section 4) and the GM Privacy Statement found at www.gm.com/privacy-statement.
PLEASE NOTE: THESE TERMS CONTAIN AN ARBITRATION CLAUSE, CLASS ACTION WAIVER AND JURY TRIAL WAIVER, AS DETAILED IN SECTION 8, BELOW.
If you have questions about these Terms or the Program, contact the GM Rewards Member Support Center at 1-844-764-2665.
GM reserves the right to change or modify any of the terms and conditions contained in these Terms from time to time, in its sole discretion. If GM decides to change these Terms, it will post a new version at experience.gm.com/rewards/terms and update the date set forth above. GM has sole discretion to interpret these Terms and GM’s interpretation of these Terms shall be final. If you do not agree to be bound by the Terms as modified from time to time, your only recourse is to cancel your Member Account (as defined below), and your failure to cancel your Member Account constitutes your continued acceptance of these Terms. You agree that each time you access your Member Account or otherwise use or participate in the Program, you are accepting and agreeing to be bound by the then-current Terms. ANY CHANGES OR MODIFICATIONS TO THESE TERMS WILL BE EFFECTIVE UPON POSTING OF THE REVISIONS ON EXPERIENCE.GM.COM/REWARDS/TERMS. THE UPDATED TERMS WILL REPLACE THE PRIOR VERSION AND ARE APPLICABLE TO ANY FUTURE DISPUTES BETWEEN THE PARTIES, REGARDLESS OF WHEN THE DISPUTE AROSE.
1. Program Eligibility
A. The Program is open to natural persons who: (i) are residents of the fifty (50) United States or Washington, D.C.; (ii) are eighteen (18) years of age or older; (iii) have the legal capacity to enter into a binding legal agreement; (iv) have enrolled in the Program; and (v) agree to these Terms. BY ENROLLING IN MEMBERSHIP IN THE PROGRAM, YOU AGREE YOU MEET THE AGE AND LEGAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS DESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS.
B. GM employees, retirees, suppliers, and dealer employees may participate in the Program, but additional restrictions (as provided by GM from time to time) may apply to earning or redeeming Points.
C. GM may change Program eligibility requirements at any time in its sole discretion. GM reserves the right to refuse a Member Account to any person for any reason.
D. Members do not need to own a GM vehicle to participate in the Program. No purchase is necessary to enroll in the Program.
2. Member Accounts
A. Enrollment. You must enroll in the Program and receive a Member account (“Member Account”) to participate in the Program. As part of your enrollment, we may ask you for or require you to provide personal information, such as your name, address, birth month, email address and cell phone number (your “Enrollment Information”). We may require you to verify your email address or phone number as part of Program enrollment. You must make GM aware of any changes in your contact information that occur after enrollment. Membership is non-transferrable.
B. Accessing Your Member Account. You can access your Member Account digitally at gmrewards.com. You may also be able to access your Member Account through other GM properties, such as other GM websites, mobile applications, or in-vehicle applications.
C. Authentication Processes. We or our service providers may use certain authentication processes from time-to-time in certain circumstances that rely on information from your wireless phone provider and other third parties. These authentication processes may also permit pre-filling of your personal information to facilitate: (i) enrollment in the Program; (ii) your application for, or enrollment in, other General Motors services or offerings; or (iii) your access to your Member Account. You authorize your wireless carrier to use or disclose information about your wireless account and your wireless device (such as your mobile phone number), if available, to GM or GM’s service providers while you are enrolled in the Program, solely to help GM or GM’s service providers identify you or your wireless device and to prevent fraud.
D. Member Account Security/Fraudulent Activity. You should review activity on your Member Account on a regular basis. You must immediately report any fraudulent or unauthorized activity on your Member Account to the GM Rewards Member Support Center at 1-844-764-2665 and provide relevant information and cooperation to GM in connection with investigating such unauthorized activity. GM may monitor Member Account activity. GM reserves the right to suspend or close a Member Account with immediate effect where GM has determined fraudulent, abusive, suspicious or unauthorized activity or Member Account access has occurred. If you have conducted any fraudulent activity, or any activity that, in GM’s sole discretion, undermines the integrity of the Program (such as by exploiting or manipulating the Program, these Terms, or other Program requirements or rules to gain benefits in an excessive, unfair, or unintended way), GM: (i) may rescind any Points earned or redeemed in connection with such activity; (ii) may prohibit you from continuing to participate in the Program and/or close your Member Account in accordance with Section 2(E), below; and (iii) reserves the right to take any legal action GM deems appropriate.
E. Member Account Suspension/Member Account Closure.
i. GM reserves the right to suspend your participation in the Program or close your Member Account at any time where you have used or GM reasonably believes you have used the Program in a manner that is not consistent with these Terms or the intent of the Program, including (but not limited to) where you have: (a) acted in a manner inconsistent with federal, state or local laws, regulations or ordinances; (b) breached or violated any of these Terms; (c) engaged in any fraudulent or dishonest behavior, theft, misconduct or wrongdoing in connection with the Program or the GM Rewards Mastercard (as described in Section 5) (including, but not limited to, behavior that exploits or manipulates the Program, these Terms, or other Program requirements or rules to gain benefits in an excessive, unfair, or unintended way); (d) engaged in any abusive, disruptive, inappropriate, offensive or hostile conduct, whether physical or verbal, towards any employee, agent, or representative of GM, or of any Participating Dealer or Third-Party Company; or (e) failed to pay bills, payments due to GM Financial, General Motors Insurance, or accounts due to GM, or to any Participating Dealer or Third-Party Company.
ii. GM will close a Member Account upon the death of the Member.
iii. GM may close your Member Account if it has been longer than seven (7) years since you earned Points or redeemed Points.
iv. GM may close your Member Account if it ceases to operate the Program.
v. You may close your Member Account by calling the GM Rewards Member Support Center at 1-844-764-2665. You may need to provide your Member number assigned at enrollment or other information to verify your identity to close your Member Account.
vi. Once your Member Account is closed; (a) you will no longer have access to your Member Account information; (b) you will no longer accumulate Points on Eligible Transactions; and (c) any accumulated Points will be forfeited. Once Points are forfeited, the Points cannot be reinstated. GM will not and is under no obligation to compensate or pay cash for any forfeited or unused Points.
3. Points
A. General. Points have no cash or other monetary value. Points are not legal tender, are not your property, and have no property value. Points are issued without separate payment or other consideration provided by you. Points are non-negotiable, cannot be purchased or sold by Members, cannot be redeemed for cash or credit or any monetary value or currency, and cannot be used to pay debts. However, you may redeem Points for certain expressly-identified GM payment options (such as through GM Financial, General Motors Insurance, or OnStar).
B. Earning Points. After you become a Member, GM may award Points to you for completing certain transactions or engaging in certain activities (each, an “Eligible Transaction”). To see current earn rates for Points and activities for which you can earn Points, visit https://experience.gm.com/rewards/earn. All applicable requirements to earn Points must be met in order to earn Points. You will not earn Points for transactions completed prior to Membership, unless otherwise indicated by GM or determined by GM at its sole discretion. Eligible Transactions and the amount of Points awarded for Eligible Transactions may change from time to time in GM’s sole discretion upon prior notice. We may round fractional points earned up or down to a whole point number. We may also round the points required for redemption up to a whole point number. Important note about exclusions from Eligible Transactions: You do not earn Points through the Program on taxes, discounts, rebates, credits, shipping fees, Program redemption transactions, body shop repair orders, warranty repair work, or state inspection fees.
C. Promotional Points. From time to time, GM may offer opportunities to earn promotional Points (“Promotional Points”) that are subject to additional terms as set forth in the promotion (“Additional Terms”). To the extent there is a conflict between these Terms and any Additional Terms, the Additional Terms will control. All applicable Additional Terms associated with the specific promotional offer must be met in order to earn Promotional Points. Promotional Points will be posted to your Member Account within sixty (60) days after the end date of the applicable promotion, unless otherwise specified in the promotion. Promotional Points may expire earlier than Points earned through Eligible Transactions or may have restrictions associated with their redemption.
D. Member Information Must Match to Receive Points. In order to receive Points, the first name, last name, home address and email address associated with the Eligible Transaction must match the Member information on the Member Account.
E. Duplicate Member Accounts. If a Member has more than one GM-branded consumer credit card account, Points earned from each such credit card account may be maintained by GM in separate Member Accounts. Otherwise, if a Member is associated with more than one Member Account, the Member’s earned Points will be assigned to the oldest Member Account with a GM-branded consumer credit card associated with it. If the Member does not have a Member Account with a GM-branded consumer credit card associated with it, the Member’s earned Points will be assigned to the oldest Member Account. Duplicate Member Accounts may be closed by GM without notice. GM may reassign Points to a Member Account of its choice. Members may request to merge Member Accounts by contacting the GM Rewards Member Support Center at 1-844-764-2665.
F. Participating Dealerships and Third-Party Companies. Availability of Participating Dealerships and Third-Party Companies will vary. Participating Dealers and Third-Party Companies can change at any time without prior notice. A list of Participating Dealers can be located at www.gmrewardsdealers.com or by contacting the GM Rewards Member Support Center at 1-844-764-2665.
G. Returns or Exchanges. Whether or not a good or service you purchase using Points can be returned or exchanged with GM, a Participating Dealer, or a Third-Party Company is subject to the return policy of GM, the Participating Dealer, or Third-Party Company, respectively, and applicable law. If you return or exchange an item from an Eligible Transaction on which you earned Points, we may deduct those Points from your Member Account. If you return an item on which Points were redeemed, you will receive those Points back in your Member Account within forty-five (45) days.
H. Points Awarded in Error. If Points were awarded to a Member’s Account due to a technical or human error, GM may rescind such Points from the Member Account, with or without notice. If such erroneously awarded Points were redeemed, GM reserves the right to associate a negative Points balance with the Member Account. In such a case, the Member would need to earn enough Points to take the Member Account out of the negative Points balance before being able to redeem Points.
I. Point Credits. Points will be credited to your Member Account within forty-five (45) days after completing an Eligible Transaction. The award transaction date can, in some circumstances, differ from the earn transaction date. Point credits and redemption activity can be accessed in your Member Account. If you believe you did not receive the correct Points for an Eligible Transaction, you may contact the GM Rewards Member Support Center at 1-844-764-2665 within ninety (90) days of completing the Eligible Transaction. GM will make the final determination, in its sole discretion, on Point adjustments.
J. Point Expiration. All unredeemed Points in a Member Account expire seven (7) years from the date of the Member’s last activity (either earn activity or redemption activity, but not transfer activity) or upon Member Account closure for any reason. All accumulated Points automatically expire upon the death of the Member or cancellation of a Member Account. Promotional Points may expire earlier, as disclosed in the applicable Additional Terms. If you feel your Points have expired in error, please call the GM Rewards Member Support Center at 1-844-764-2665 for assistance.
K. Point Transfers.
i. Subject to the terms of this Section K, a Member may transfer Points in the Member’s Member Account to another Member by completing a Points transfer request at https://experience.gm.com/myaccount/rewards/transfer-points or by calling the GM Rewards Member Support Center at 1-844-764-2665. You must call 1-844-764-2665 to initiate or receive transfer(s) totaling more than 300,000 Points in a calendar year. The Member transferring the Points must have been enrolled in the Program for more than thirty (30) days. Point transfers will occur instantly. Points transferred will be governed by the expiration date of the recipient Member Account.
ii. Transfer activity does not constitute “activity” for the purpose of determining the expiration date of the recipient’s Points unless the recipient Member Account has no Point balance at the time of the Point transfer (in which case, the date of Point transfer will begin the calculation of expiration on the transferred Points). Point transfers may be subject to tax reporting.
iii. GM may rescind Points and suspend the Member Accounts of any Member who is suspected of using the Points transfer tool in a manner inconsistent with these Terms or to sell, purchase, trade or barter Points.
iv. Points may not be assigned, transferred, traded or pledged to any third party, except as expressly authorized by GM.
v. Points cannot be transferred by operation of law, such as by bankruptcy or in connection with a divorce.
L. Point Redemption.
i. Members can redeem their Points toward the purchase of goods or services at GM, GM affiliates, Participating Dealers, and Third-Party Companies. You are eligible to redeem Points for a specific redemption option if you have accumulated enough Points for that specific redemption option, and your Member Account has not been suspended or closed.
ii. You may not redeem Points toward the purchase of a new GM vehicle on the same day on which you earned those Points.
iii. The value of Points may vary by redemption option and may change from time to time in GM’s sole discretion. Visit https://experience.gm.com/rewards/redeem to see the current redemption value(s) for Points.
iv. For some redemptions with a Participating Dealer or Third-Party Company, you must provide the last four digits of your Member Number or information you provided to GM at time of Program enrollment, such as email address.
v. You cannot redeem Points toward certain products or services. Ineligible products include, but are not limited to, items excluded by law, taxes, shipping costs or vehicle deposits.
vi. It is your responsibility to request the redemption of Points during a transaction where Points may be redeemed. Redeemed Points will be deducted from your Member Account immediately.
M. Point Restrictions. GM reserves the right to make any other incentive or discount or pricing program incompatible with Points at any time such that another incentive or discount or pricing program cannot be used in the same transaction in which Points are redeemed. In some instances, Participating Dealers or Third-Party Companies may decide not to combine the redemption of Points with other discounts, packages or promotional offers.
3. Data, Communications, and Marketing
A. By enrolling in the Program, you expressly authorize GM and its affiliates to share information about your Member Account, your Enrollment Information, and other information (such as personal information, Points balance and dollar equivalents, vehicle purchase, and service information) with GM Participating Dealers, Third-Party Companies, and their respective service providers so you can receive the benefits of the Program, for administration and servicing purposes, and to inform you of offers and opportunities. If you are approved for a GM-branded consumer credit card, you hereby expressly authorize GM and its affiliates and service providers to share information about your Member Account and your personal information with the issuer of such credit card (and its affiliates and service providers), so you can receive the benefits of the Program in connection with the credit card program, for administration and servicing purposes, and to inform you of offers and opportunities.
B. By enrolling in the Program, you consent to receive Member Account servicing and marketing updates by email. You may opt-out of receiving marketing content without closing your Member Account by visiting the GM Contact Preferences website. You may not opt-out from receiving communications related to the servicing or administration of your Member Account. Members who opt-out of receiving marketing from us may still receive marketing communications from Barclays Bank Delaware, GM affiliated entities, or other third parties.
5. GM Rewards Mastercard Program. Information about the GM Rewards Mastercard can be found at www.gmrewardscard.com. GM Rewards Mastercard cardmember accounts closed either voluntarily, by the issuer for no cause, or due to the cardmember not being in good standing will still have access to Points earned in the Program and will remain subject to the conditions of these Terms. GM may close your Member Account based on cardmember fraud.
6. Modification of the Program/Termination of the Program. GM may change the Program in any manner at any time in GM’s sole discretion, including, but not limited to, eligibility for Membership, Point values, redemption values, redemption caps, or any other aspect of the Program. These modifications may affect Points already received, or the opportunity to redeem such Points, or Point redemption rate. While the Program has no predetermined end date, GM may terminate the Program at any time, with or without notice. In the event the Program is terminated, you will have a minimum of ninety (90) days (or such longer period as required by applicable law) from the date the Program termination is announced by any reasonable and customary communication channels as GM determines in its sole discretion to redeem Points remaining in your Member Account. After that date, any Points will be forfeited without compensation.
7. No Warranty and Limitations of Liability. GM makes no guarantees, warranties, or representations of any kind concerning the Program except as expressly contained in these Terms. You agree that GM has not represented that: (A) the Program will include any particular products or services; (B) that the Program will not be interrupted, without omissions or error free; or (C) that defects will be corrected or changes implemented. You release GM and its affiliates, participating Dealers and Third-Party Companies from all liability regarding the earning, redemption, and use of Points, including any product, service or reward redeemed with Points that, after receipt, may be lost, stolen, or destroyed.
Participating Dealers and Third-Party Companies are independent entities and are not agents or representatives of GM. Redemption at a Participating Dealer or Third-Party Companies may vary. GM is not responsible for, and assumes no liability for, the actions or redemption responsibilities of a Participating Dealer or Third-Party Company. Nothing in the Program or in these Terms is intended to create any agency, partnership or joint venture between GM and any Participating Dealer or Third-Party Company. If any Participating Dealer or Third-Party Company improperly denies any Member any benefit they are entitled to under the Program, the liability of the Participating Dealer or Third-Party Company, or of GM, is limited to the fair market value of the denied benefit as determined by GM.
GM PROVIDES THE PROGRAM “AS IS” AND, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION OR MEMBERSHIP IN THE PROGRAM, INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF CHANGES TO OR TERMINATION OF THE PROGRAM. THIS IS A COMPREHENSIVE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY THAT APPLIES TO ALL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LOSS OF DATA, INCOME OR PROFIT, LOSS OF OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE LIMITATIONS ON GM’S LIABILITY SET FORTH HEREIN SHALL APPLY WHETHER FOR BREACH OR REPUDIATION OF CONTRACT, OR WHETHER IN TORT, CIVIL LIABILITY BY WAY OF NEGLIGENCE, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. BY AGREEING TO THESE TERMS, YOU WILLINGLY AGREE THAT YOU HAVE RELINQUISHED YOUR RIGHT TO SEEK THESE DAMAGES FROM GM AND THAT THIS IS A REASONABLE ALLOCATION OF RISK. THIS PROVISION DOES NOT APPLY TO NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO GM’S OWN NEGLIGENCE, WILL GM BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE PROGRAM, EVEN IF A REPRESENTATIVE OF GM HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
In the event GM is held liable for any act, error or omission related to the Program, your sole and exclusive remedy will be limited to reimbursement for services or products you paid for but did not receive under the Program, or the issuance of Points under the Program as compensation, at GM’s election. You agree to waive any claim or action of any kind in any forum that is not commenced and served on GM within two (2) years after the first occurrence of the kind of act, event, condition or omission upon which the claim or action is based.
8. Dispute Resolution. GM is committed to customer satisfaction, so if you have a problem or dispute, we will try to resolve your concerns. You agree to give GM an opportunity to resolve any disputes or claims relating in any way to the Program, including but not limited to any dealings you may have with our customer service agents, any services or products provided in conjunction with the Program, any representations made by us, or any aspect of the GM Privacy Statement (“Claims”), by contacting the GM Rewards Member Center at 1-844-764-2665 prior to seeking other relief. If we are unsuccessful in resolving your Claim within sixty (60) days, you may seek relief through arbitration or in small claims court, as set forth below.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAWS, YOU AND GM AGREE THAT ANY CAUSE OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE PROGRAM MUST COMMENCE WITHIN TWO (2) YEARS AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION ACCRUES. OTHERWISE, SUCH CAUSE OF ACTION IS PERMANENTLY BARRED.
ANY AND ALL CLAIMS WILL BE RESOLVED BY BINDING, CONFIDENTIAL ARBITRATION, RATHER THAN IN COURT, except you may assert Claims on an individual basis in small claims court otherwise having jurisdiction over such Claims. This includes any Claims you assert against us, any GM affiliate, Participating Dealers or Third-Party Companies, or any other participating third parties offering products or services as part of this Program, all of which are beneficiaries of this arbitration agreement. This also includes any Claims that arose before you accepted these Terms of Use, regardless of whether prior versions of the Terms of Use required arbitration. Arbitrated claims relating to the Program will be settled under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”). You can get rules and fee information from the AAA at www.adr.org. The arbitrator is not authorized to award punitive, consequential or other damages not measured by the prevailing party’s actual damages. The arbitration proceedings and arbitration award shall be maintained by the parties as strictly confidential. The Federal Arbitration Act and federal arbitration law apply to this agreement. An arbitration decision may be confirmed by any court with competent jurisdiction.
THERE IS NO JUDGE OR JURY IN ARBITRATION, AND COURT REVIEW OF AN ARBITRATION AWARD IS LIMITED. HOWEVER, AN ARBITRATOR CAN AWARD ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS THE SAME DAMAGES AND RELIEF AS A COURT (INCLUDING STATUTORY DAMAGES, ATTORNEYS’ FEES AND COSTS), AND MUST FOLLOW AND ENFORCE THESE TERMS OF USE AS A COURT WOULD.
ANY AND ALL PROCEEDINGS TO RESOLVE CLAIMS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. IF FOR ANY REASON A CLAIM PROCEEDS IN COURT RATHER THAN IN ARBITRATION YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.
EACH PARTY WILL BEAR ITS OWN COSTS, FEES AND EXPENSES OF ARBITRATION.
IF MORE THAN TWENTY-FIVE (25) SIMILAR CLAIMS ARE ASSERTED AGAINST US BY THE SAME OR COORDINATED COUNSEL OR ARE OTHERWISE COORDINATED (AND YOUR CLAIM IS ONE OF THEM), YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT WE MAY ELECT TO HAVE YOUR CLAIM AND ANY RELATED CLAIMS HEARD IN COURT INSTEAD OF ARBITRATION.
This section will survive termination of the Program or your Member Account and any bankruptcy. If any portion of this Dispute Resolution section or Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, it will not invalidate the remaining portions of this Dispute Resolution section or Terms and any disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts in Detroit, Michigan.
9. Governing Law. The laws of the state of Michigan and federal law govern these Terms and any aspect of your relationship with GM under the Program. They govern without regard to any conflicts of laws principles that would cause the application of the substantive law of another jurisdiction.
10. Invalidity. The provisions of these Terms are intended to be interpreted in a manner which makes them valid, legal, and enforceable. If any provision of these Terms is found to be partially or wholly invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, such provision shall be modified solely to the extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable. It is expressly understood and agreed between the parties that such modification or restriction may be accomplished unilaterally by GM, or alternatively, by a court of law. If such provisions cannot under any circumstances be so modified or restricted, they shall be excised from these Terms without affecting the validity, legality or enforceability of any of the remaining provisions.
11. No Waiver. The failure of GM to exercise any of its rights under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of such rights in any other instance. Participation in the Program, and any application for Membership in the Program, are void if prohibited by law in the state of the Member’s residence and are subject to change as may be necessary to comply with such laws or regulations.
12. Copyright. All Program design, text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, the selection and arrangement thereof, and all proprietary software is Copyright (c) General Motors LLC, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. The compilation (meaning the collection, arrangement and assembly) of all Program content is the exclusive property of GM and protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. All software used in connection with the Program is the property of GM or its software suppliers and is protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. Unless otherwise indicated, permission is granted to electronically copy and to print in hard copy portions of the Program materials for the sole purpose of accessing the Program and the services provided therein for personal use. Any other use of Program materials - including reproduction, modification, distribution, republishing, transmission, displayer performance - without the prior written permission of GM is strictly prohibited.
13. Tax Implications. The monetary value of a Points transfer or a transaction for which you redeem your Points may be considered taxable income from GM in the tax year in which you redeem the Points under U.S. tax law. GM may be required to send you (and file with the IRS) a Form 1099-MISC (Miscellaneous Income) for the year in which you transfer Points or redeem Points when the value of the transfer or redemption plus other taxable miscellaneous income you receive from GM totals $600 or more for a calendar year. We determine the taxable value of transaction received through your Points redemptions for this purpose. You are responsible for any personal tax liability due to your Point redemption. Please consult with your tax advisor.
14. California Notice of Financial Incentive. Under California law, loyalty programs may be considered a financial incentive. To view our notice of financial incentive, please visit https://www.gm.com/california-privacy-statement.
